Vacation recap

So my vacation is already alomst over. WAAAH! :o(

Went to see The Gates a bunch more times. Today is the last day so my friend Ciara and I went to say goodbye real quick before seeing "Altar Boyz" Off-Bway. (More on that later.) I'm very sad to see this installation end. As anyone knows who has read this block I ahve visted Central Park many times throughout the process from the set-up all the way through to the end. I really love Christo and Jeanne-Claude's work. To have them do an exhibit here and to witness it firsthand was such a gift. I know not everyone loved it or even liked it - some people even hated it - but that's art. What I love most about their work is how unpretentious (is that a word?) it is. They don't place meaning, worth, or importance on it. They simply visualize and conceptualize a work of art that they feel will be beautiful. They execute it and then take it down. That's it. Their work is simple, beautiful and fleeting.

And now the shows I've seen this week!
