Back from Miami...

So as previously posted I went away last weekend to Miami for a company meeting. It was a great meeting that was actually full of useful info and exercises and was fun, too. And even though it was only for an hour, I got to see some of my family! My grandparents, Aunt Florrie, Arianna, Aunt Jan and Aunt Frannie all drove over to the hotel and we got to spend some time together. It was GREAT! THANK YOU to my family for going out your way to come see me even only for an hour. It meant the world to me.

Settling back into things at home was made easier by my wonderful boyfriend. Gaspar bought a few things for the apartment - area rug for the living room, hung a few pictures and things, got a tablecloth that matches our curtains - he's the best!!

Mom and Dad are on vacation this week and taking in the sites of our hometown of NYC. And they are spoiling me along with spoiling themselves. We ate ate one of our favorite restaurants on earth - Ellen's Stardust Diner - and then saw Fiddler on the Roof with Harvey Fierstein from amazing seats!

I was taking a few photos around Times Square, finishing off a role of film and we were heading over to the Broadhurst where Lennon's playing to take a few of the marquee before seeing Fiddler. One of my favorite actors of all time, Terrence Mann, is in Lennon. And lo and behold who is sitting outside the very theater he is performing in smoking a cigar? Terrence Mann! Haven't really seen him too much since my friends and I were obsessing over Rocky Horror on Broadway and he was playing Frank N Furter. So I took a photo with him and generally freaked out - it was fun!

Then it was off to Fiddler where Mom and Dad treated me to a ticket. We were in around teh 11th row center of the orchestra - incredible seats. And Harvey was outstanding as Tevye. I had forgotten that Andrea Martin was playing Golde. She was just great. It's been a long time since I've listened to the music or seen the movie. I was around 12 or so when it was last revived on Broadway and my parents and I went to see it. There were many parts of the story I'd forgotten. And I'd forgotten how funny the show could be as well.

In the lobby before the show I saw a guy that looked familiar. Is it..? Nah? Maybe? I said to my Dad "Hey that guy over there looks exactly like Alfred Molina! But it's not him." And my Dad says "It IS him!" Haha! Alfred Molina originated the role of Tevye in this particular production. It was funny seeing him at a show he used to be in. Guess he was catching Harvey's performance.

And today we are going to see Lennon! Can't wait!! THANK YOU MOM AND DAD!
