Fun at the Bway Flea Market

You know you're a theater geek if...

... the day of the Broaday flea market is like Christmas for you
... you cannot sleep the night before because you're so excited
... and you get there an hour before it even opens!

Every year the Broadway community comes together for a flea market to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Most shows have their own table where they sell everything from costumes, props, opening night gofts, posters, and autographed memoribilia to CDs, snacks and normal flean market type of stuff. There is also a celebrity table where Broadway, TV and movie stars appear. $20 donation gets you through a line of over a dozen people. I never make that part of the event because I'm too busy SHOPPING!

I had a very successful visit to the flea market this year. Got a bunch of stuff while shopping with Mom and Dad and my friends Meli, Melissa, Meredith and Jonn. (Gaspar sits out the flea market and listens to me rave about when I get home.)

But the best item of the day was a FREE Rent movie poster! (The 11 x 14 promo version.) Sony handed all them out in less than 20 minutes. I would have paid for it but free is even better! Also a bunch of Rent movie postcards and fold-up flyers. And a FREE Lennon window card that a guy at a nearby deli gave me after I finally convinced him the show had closed.

Most ridiculous (and fun) purchase - Norbert's prom pic $2 at the ShKBoom table

The rest of loot:
Lennon hat - $5
Lennon glasses - $1
Love Janis hat - $5
Adam Pascal tee - $10
Spelling Bee placard signed by the entire cast - $10
All Shook Up opening night Playbill signed by the entire cast - $10
signed DRS photo of Norbert - $5
signed DRS photo of Sherie - $5
Spelling Bee photo of Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Sarah Saltzberg taken during the show, autographed - $2
Kristin Chenoweth's "As I Am" - $5
The Woman In White OCR - $10
2 Taboo pins - $1
The All My Children concert on DVD - $25

WOO HOO!
