BROADWAY FLEA MARKET 2007!

Those of you who know me know I save money and look forward to spending it at Broadway Cares/Equity Fight's AIDS annual Broadway Flea Market. It's like Christmas day for me. This consists of West 44th St and Shubert Alley being closed down and many many Broadway shows and related organizations setting up tables and selling everything from props, costumes, autographs and memoribilia to stuff you'd find at any garage sale. Much of the time, in addition to the BCEFA volunteers, the cast, crew and staff of the shows man the tables themselves. This year Tyne Daly had her own table and worked it herself from open to close.

At the end of the day there is a grand auction where super rich and generous people can bid on appearances in Broadway shows (the Rent package went for 12 grand!), visits to TV shows (Ugly Betty, The Daily Show, etc), opening night tickets, rare autographed memoribilia and more. I always like this part because a lot of celebrities show up to promote the lots and raise more money.

This year I went with my mom and dad and friends PJ and Lise and Mike. We had a GREAT time. This was my seventh year in a row and it was the best so far. I came home with a ton of stuff!

I hope this was the most successful year ever. See ya next year!
