The Jordan Knight Trainwreck

So I never got over my New Kids On The Block fandom. So what!!! About five or six years ago when a couple of the New Kids started making comeback a great group of friends of mine used to roadtrip around and go to shows and stuff for fun. I guess it was just the fun of it, getting to get a couple of adventures in before adulthood really set it. Time has passed and I still love them.

And in the last couple of years, my friend Katie and I met at the last company I worked for. She listed NKOTB as her favorite band on a Secret Santa questionnaire and we became friends. Katie is far crazier than I have ever been. In fact sometimes I think she still lives in 1989 (I say that with love, Katie! :o) ) So she and I still go see whatever New Kid happens to be around. Last night it was Jordan Knight. AGAIN. Katie and I have seen Jordan Knight far too many times. Every time I swear I'm not going again. As much as the 13 year old in me doesn't want to believe it, the 29-yr-old, present-day me screams "he kinda sucks!" He is doing the hasbeen show - badly remixed versions of old New Kids songs and mediocre new stuff - half the time lipsynched badly, the other half of the time just plain horribly sung. I guess alimony and child support calls. He used to actually write some very decent original songs that sounded great. HE sounded great. And now it's the Nostalgic Trainwreck Review.

That said. I'll probably still go next time with Katie. Because despite the off-key howling, we still have fun. And Jordan looks damn hot. Pictures below. Or you can click on this link to see all of them:
