Gross!

Okay, I was gonna post yet another theater-related diatribe. However, that is going to have to wait. Because I just threw on Dr. Phil and I am outraged and disgusted by what I have just witnessed.

I can't stand Dr. Phil. If I do watch him it's strictly for the humor value (as in "Haha! This guy's an idiot!") And while a certain demographic feels he speaks from the heart, I am of the belief that he is most definitely speaking from his ass.

Anyway, so I turned on my computer to check my email. And simultaneously popped on the TV. **Important to note the TV was already on CBS. I did NOT seek out the Dr. Phil show. ** And what do I see? A man with snot dripping out of his nose and soaking into his mustache. Seriously.

Now why is this okay to air on TV in the middle of the day? People squirm at the mention of gay people kissing, a swear airing accidentally the news, a boob falling out of a dress on the Super Bowl. Personally, I find this guys snot much more offensive.

It took a full minute for the good doctor to hand this guy a Kleenex. And what does he do? Wipes the tears from his eyes. WHAT? This show is on a tape delay! No one thought to yell CUT and tell this guy his boogers are on TV for all the world to see? "Not the eyes! The nose! Hit the nose!"

Here's what I think happened here. A fellow cynic is operating the camera on this show. And while this guest is embarassing himself by seeking advice from Dr. Chrome Dome on national television - instead of going to a private shrink in his hometown - perhaps the cameraman considered snot on the mustache icing on the cake. I imagine him behind the camera, headset falling to his neck as he shakes in silent laughter.

I would much rather see a famous boob (as in the body part, not Dr. Phil) on television than a snotty mustache.
