The Tony Award nominations

The Tony nominations were announced earlier this week. As I have started a new (old?) job just this past Monday I haven't had time to blog about it. I will save the category-by-category nitpicking for a later post when I am not nearly as exhausted as I am at the moment. But I have realized something - I didn't like a whole hell of a lot that happened this theater season. Everything I loved has either closed or has been shunned. And I have missed out on most of what has been recognized with a nomination this year - apart from Threepenny Opera (another post about that show coming soon) and couple others. Most shows still playing on the Great White Way that I love are from prior seasons - notably Spelling Bee. Perhaps in all my Rent movie obsessing in the last year I lost my way? *sigh*
