Summer Recap (Part Two): Grandma Turns 80

This past July, my grandmother turned 80.

We took her to see Grey Gardens on Broadway with a car service there and back and then a celebration at home. It was really great day and she had a great time. 80 is quite a milestone, especially for a woman that still thinks she's 21. I don't think she could hardly believe it. I told everyone from the cab driver to the usher that she was 80 and she kept laughing and telling me to stop.

At the theater I got her a button with the word STAUNCH on it. Little Edie in Grey Gardens shouts the word and sings about "staunch women." Never meet anyone more staunch than Muriel Schulze!
